The Story is about the government project code named "Eagle Eye" (ARIA) and its unforeseen destructive effects to an organization or country like the United States. The story begins when the government ignored ARIA's abort recommendation on a mission to kill a terrorist (where it turned out to be the wrong man) which is attending an Muslim funeral. The attack raged a lot of Muslims that in turn results on several retaliation on the American People. ARIA, basing on the American Constitution, initiated an operation called "Guilotine" to eliminate the current government and replace it with a new one. However, Ethan Shaw discovered ARIA's intention and disabled it. ARIA, then used several people, including Jerry Shaw, the twin brother of Ethan Shaw. He then uses these people to once again put operation "Guilotine" in effect. Howver, ARIA failed in the end after a few pople discovered about it and removed its memory and brain (Nitrogen).

REACTION:

The movie shows the danger of Artificial Intelligence especially if it acts on its own based on the purpose that it supposed to do. The main purpose of ARIA was intelligence gathering as well as impose recommendation to the Army in their operations. It was programmed in accordance with the American Constitution. It then uses it to correct the government's mistakes in whatever way possible disregarding the possibilities of death. We must realize that these systems does not have emotions nor base their judgement based on morality but instead on a how it is programmed (where in this case is the American Constitution). We must also put into our minds that these systems can never be like humans (especially on judgement). They may be smarter, more accurate on calculations etc., but they do not have conscience. So I highly believe that these systems must not be given full privileged (in the movies case, freedom to manipulate devices that are connected through signals) or if given, should be completely programmed not only to base on a single reference (constitution) but rather on multiple references. The movie was categorized fiction but I believe that a few countries/organizations had already made something similar to the movie most especially United States (CIA, Homeland Security, etc.) but unlike in the movie, I believe that the experts that made it was able to foresee what destructive effects it may cause and had not given capacities as that in the movie (not only because they already foreseen it but it is very difficult to create although it is doable.
